This is because of nature- both the nature of the male and the nature of the female. The roles inherent in male and female do not described nor particularly shed light on the Trinity.<br /><br />We had a version of this nonsense in the Catholic world when Pope John Paul's theology of the body was foisted upon us. I think it was flipped in a different direction though, since it is the sort of teaching women like (and St. Paul warned us about).
