Ten Commandments (15) - Theft
Stealing something that belongs to someone else is a sin that should be deal with by civil authorities. The Bible gives a number of examples that assist with the definition of theft.- Stealing another person’s property is theft. (Ex 22:1).
- Distorting the records of property ownership is a form of theft. (Deut 25:1).
- Assault is a form of theft as it robs a person of their freedom and ability to earn.
- Breach of contract that has been freely agreed is also theft. (Ex 22:7,8).
