Jesus and Hot Potatoes

When Jesus received authority, he immediately delegated it to his disciples.

He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority (Matt 10:1).
These are amazing words. Jesus did not say, “I am in charge, do what I say”. He gave them authority and sent them out. That is the way it will be in the Kingdom of God. Authority should be held lightly.

This is the mystery of the Kingdom. All authority will be handed over to the saints of God (Dan 7;18), but they will give it away to other as quickly as possible. With authority, it will be more blessed to give than receive.
