Here in the US, we accused the Soviet Bloc of professionalism because they inducted their athletes into the military and let them train full-time. But as soon as we could put our top professional athletes in the Olympics, we did it. The Olympics have long since outlived their usefulness. They're just one more over-produced orgy of egotism with no purpose other than making money.
