Yahweh Rapha v Christian Snake Oil

I never cease to be amazed at the wide variety or remedies and cures that are promoted by Christians. It often seems like every Christian has a favourite cure.

  • A Christian radio station carries adverts for bee venom.
  • When a prayer group is asked to pray for a person with arthritis, an intercessor suggest a remedy that helped her cousin.
  • A Christian organisation is promoting "glyconutritionals" as a key to healing of many diseases.
  • Other Christians are advocating herbal remedies for heart disease.

Maybe these things have an effect, but why are Christian not proclaiming the healing power Yahweh Rapha, the God who heals. Surely, it is the most effective remededy for sin and sickness. I cannot help wondering if there is not something missing from our understanding of the healing power of the cross.

First of all Ron just how far do you want to go with this? I was part of an extreme healing movement where we didn't go to doctors or take remedies for some ten years and raised 8 children and 6 were born at home without medical help. I know all the verses. I know what is faith and what isn't. I've lived it, been tried hard core and none of us in my family is dead yet.One things for sure you never tell another person how to act their faith implied or even suggested. I have been healed both ways supernaturally and with snake oils. You just don't put God in a box but you do put Him first in everything.Recently I was supernaturally healed while I am on all kinds of natural remedies. How do I know? I was at our home in a prayer meeting and a brother holding my hand not knowing I was believing for healing called out the name Yahweh Rapha and the power of Jesus hit me all over and the next day I was incredibly better and the painful symptoms haven't returned since. Do I still take suppliments? Yes. Do I still juice? Yes. Do I still drink super purified water? Yes. Do I still call on the Lord as my healer and keeper of my divine health? You bet! I try to avoid doctors as much as possible. I attend a traditional church that has been written up in Charisma magazine for it's divine healings here in Redding Ca.Are people still sick that sit under this incredible annointed ministry? Yes. 6-12 people were healed last Sunday of hip and ankle problems. One sat right behind me and I prayed for him. When making declarations for your healing and waiting for the manifestation everyone should take seriously what they put into their body.I'll end this with Jonah 2:8 "They that
observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy" Next time you are in a trial of faith for healing stand on this verse as it's God's will to heal you and all else is a lie. Best books on healing are FF Bosworth's Christ The Healer and TL Osborns book Healing The Sick. By the way I am part of the house church movement and consider myself a visionary and a revolutionary and have enjoyed your book and your thoughts on many areas. Blessings!

Healing is definitely part of the Cross; I've walked in divine health without any sickness since 1978 so I know that it's a fact. It is available to those who believe the Bible. Just because you believe Jesus is your Savior doesn't mean you can believe Jesus is your healer. You must build up your faith in that area but, as I said, my life is a testimony that it is a fact.
