Gods Wisdom

His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms (Eph 3:10).
God’s intentions are clear. The principalities and powers that rebelled with Satan will come to realise that they have chosen the wrong side. This will happen now. It is not something that will happen at the end of the age when Jesus returns.

The church will make it happen; not Jesus returning in glory. God’s intention is that the church, moving in the power of the Spirit, will inflict such defeats on the principalities and powers that they will know that they made a mistake.

I have always remembered what Peter Marshall and David Manual wrote about the Puritans in their book called The Light and the Glory.

They really believed it. They actually believed what few people have, before or since: that the King of God really could be built on earth, in their lifetimes.
When I read those words my spirit stirred. I believe that the Kingdom of God will be established on earth through the church moving in the power of the Spirit.

Most Christians do not believe that God can do it, especially through the church. They do not get it. They do not get the rest of Ephesians 3, where Paul declares that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask imagine through the Spirit that dwells within us. He will do this for the glory of the Church.

Many Christians (maybe most) are more confident about what the forces of evil will accomplish in the world than they are about what God can do through the church. We need a radical mind shift. We need to get Eph 3:10.
