Veep Debate

We got to see a few snippets of the American Vice President debate on the news last night. Sarah Palin is attractive and articulate, but she talks faster than she thinks. I doubt that she has the intelligence to be the leader to the American empire.

The debate about her ability to cope with the demands of high office is distracting attention from John McCain. He has hardly made our news at all in recent weeks. Sarah Palin is drawing a lot of attention, but it may not translate into votes for John McCain.

I do not get to vote, so my observations do not really matter. However, if I am getting this impression, I presume that many American voters are drawing the same conclusion.

Even if Sarah is weaker in gravitas than I wish she were, she has core values that match mine, and I sense perhaps yours.

This is about the capacity for righteous leadership. If we don't have it our nation will be worse off. Obama doesn't seem to have it.

Pro Abortion, Pro Gay Rights, Pro Socialism (more than before) isn't good news. I don't want to see headlines like this and I don't think most Christians left or right want them either:

• Obama enacts stronger “federal hate crimes legislation” to “reinvigorate enforcement at the Department of Justice’s Criminal Section.”

• Obama creates “a fund to help people refinance their mortgages and provide comprehensive supports to innocent homeowners.”

• Obama, following through on his pledge to “meet with the leaders of all nations, friend and foe,” signs a non-agression pact with the Hitler of Iran.

• Obama doubles foreign aid to $50 billion to cut “poverty around the world in half by 2015.”

• Obama removes our troops from Iraq, leaving a power vacuum filled by Iran.

• Obama enacts socialized medicine, destroying small businesses with taxes to pay for illegal alien healthcare.

• Obama enacts amnesty for illegal aliens.

• Obama enacts legislation demanding carbon friendly cars, hammering the final nail in the coffin of the US car industry.

• Barack Obama enact laws to reinforce affirmative action by funneling money to “women and minority-owned businesses.”

• Obama repeals the Bush tax cuts.

• Obama enacts the Employment Non-Discrimination Act to entrench the power of the homosexual lobby.

All of these come directly from his promises on his web site. I can't see myself supporting this kind of candidacy.

Neither Obama, Palin, Biden or McCain represent my values, because they are all believers in the power of the state and American power.

Sorry I didn't watch the debate. I watch IRON MAN with my 3 sons.
It was a great time of pizza and a movie.

I purposely missed the debates. Something more important - and more American - was going on. Baseball playoffs are on TV.
