Peter

After Peter and John were released from prison, they prayed and quoted a prophecy by David.

Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together against the Lord
and against his anointed one (Acts 4:25-26).
Peter understood that the rulers of the nations are opposed to God’s purposes. God responded to the prayer by re-filling them with the Holy Spirit.
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly (Acts 4:31).
God was doing something much bigger than the nations and their rulers. He was bringing in the Kingdom of God by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Many Christians still hope to use the power of the nation state to establish the Kingdom of God. Peter understood that God could do something more powerful through the Holy Spirit.

A few posts back, you talked about the 70s and how something went wrong since then. Then you started posting about other things. Every post since then- I look at it and think, this attitude of no defense- is a problem.
That is, whatever the move of the Spirit, people need to be defended.

This is an inter-generational obligation, one it seems to be was abdicated in favor of a ideology of nonviolence.

I have not specifically continued with that theme, because I have been writing about it for years.

I  do not hold an ideology of non-violence. Violence is sometimes justified, but is usually sub optional, doing more harm than good, and obstructing God's purposes.

There are two chapters on defence in Government of God.
