Time of Distress (13) - Israel

Daniel prophesied that multitudes from his nation would receive salvation after a Time of Distress. It would be a time of trouble for his people.

There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered (Dan 12:1).
Perhaps because the Times of the Gentiles are drawing to an end, the leaders of Jewish people rushed ahead of God plan and use political manipulation and military power to establish a Jewish state in the land of Palestine. Ezekiel speaks of people who have returned to the land by the power of the sword.
A land that is restored by the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel who had long been desolate… and now all of them live in safety (Ez 38:8).
The Jewish people responded to the trauma of their holocaust in Europe, by seeking security in their own land. Over the last sixty years, they have established a nation state for themselves that is now providing relatively security.

Security in a homeland will prove to be a false hope, because during the Times of the Gentiles, their security comes from being scattered them among the nations.
The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach (Rev 12:14).
God kept the Jewish people alive among the nations for two thousand years. Gathering in one place leaves them vulnerable to the powers of evil and trusting political manoeuvrings and military power. This is a lose-lose combination. The Jewish people will only be safe in their land, when they trust in God through Jesus. Trusting in a homeland will prove to be a disaster.

I think we have already seen this...regathering.

How are you of the opinion that this was premature?

It was premature, because the Times of the Gentiles are not finished. What has been produced looks like the kingdom of man, not the Kingdom of God.

The Holy Spirit was not in it. If he had been more would have come to faith in Jesus and the outcome would look more like the Kingdom of God.

1948 is huge distraction for those wanting to understand God's plan. Those who base their eschatology on that date (or 1967) have been wrong again and again.

God will use it for good, but it was not his original plan.

Unfortunately, many Christians have more faith in Israel than in the Holy Spirit.

The real ingathering is in the future. It will be the work of the Holy Spirit and will bring great blessing to the world. It will bring glory and honor to Jesus, not shame.

Hi Ron: I've read this and the few posts following it. It is good to see you saying these things about Israel (the state), because they are spot-on. It exists currently through the actions of ungodly men trying to manipulate events to 'fulfill' prophecy in the same way that Judas and Ahmadinejad do; only they were and are clearly blasphemous and luciferian...anti-christ. Israel today is the clear type of all mankind's humanism: we can do it ourselves, we don't need God's help, and we'll prove it to you. While scripturally Jerusalem and Israel are the Great Whore, Mystery Babylon, (compare Revelation to Jeremiah or Lamentations and that is obvious) etc...yet I cannot easily distinguish to say the U.S. IS the beast and NOT the Whore. They are too closely entangled and similar, like microcosm and macrocosm. The description of Mystery Babylon is simply too grand at the present to be Israel; it seems more like NYC to me, and by extrapolation the whole U.S. Certainly the U.S. will suffer the fate described in Revelation, as will Israel. Nevertheless, I too see an invasion of Israel by the U.S. But I get the impression that The Beast (Anti-Christ, the Son of Perdition II) will be somehow both U.S. and Israeli at the same time. I do not know how though.
