Kingdom of God (7) - Christian Community

During the Time of Distress, Christians will have been forced together in small groups in order to survive. A group of Christians who trust each other will have bought or rented houses close to each, so they can support each other through the Time of Distress. They will get serious about Jesus new commandment.

Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. (John 13:34).
These Christians will become community that transforms their neighbourhood. When the structures of society begin to fall apart, they will work out alternative ways of sustaining life in their neighbourhood.
  • Everything they own and earn will be shared.

  • Anyone in the neighbourhood who is suffering will be sorted.

  • They will pray for those who are sick or oppressed by evil.

  • Wise Christians will settle disputes between people in an amicable way.

  • Anyone who steals will be required to make restitution.

  • Financial support will be provided for those who lose their income or assets.

  • Christians will guard their community and call out anyone entering to do evil.

  • They will stand together and pray against anyone who attempts to attack their neighbourhood.

  • Some members of the community will start businesses to provide employment to others in their neighbourhood.

  • If the financial system has broken down, someone will begin recording loans and lending to allow saving to flow to where they are needed.

  • Someone might begin recording money transactions as a more effective alternative to barter.

This support will not be limited to Christians, but will be available to anyone committed to the neighbourhood.
