The economic crisis in America is bringing about two critical changes.
- The days of easy credit are gone forever. Two decades of low interest rates and easy borrowing have dramatically changed our lifestyles. Tight credit will change our lifestyles back to what we can afford.
- America is grouching to being the Beast. It was once the home of market capitalism and the bastion of independence. Faith in the state has been growing rapidly over the last few decades. The state has just made a huge series of interventions in the economy and most Americans are cheering. They will never be able to resist the lure of the state again.

I'm not so sure about this. They'll be back, just as soon as everybody forgets about what happened. Should only take about fifteen years, max.
