Islam and Christianity (1)
Unlike Buddhism, which is passive, and Hinduism, which is syncretistic, both Islam and Christianity are imperialist religions. They both want to influence the entire world. Regarding Islam, Dr Mahmud Ahmadinejad, the President of Iran said,
We must believe in the fact that Islam is not confined to geographical borders, ethnic groups and nations. It's a universal ideology that leads the world to justice. We don't shy away from declaring that Islam is ready to rule the world. We must prepare ourselves to rule the world. This is fairly clear. Islam will eventually rule the world. Regarding Christianity, Jesus said in his commission to his disciples,
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matt 28:19,20).This is also very clear. Jesus is claiming authority over the entire earth. He expects that all the nations will obey his teaching and become his disciples.
A clash between these two religions is inevitable somewhere along the way.
